Just when everybody thought nothing can top the personal computer, Apple created the iPad.

The iPad is not a personal computer upgrade because it is not a computer. It is more than that.

What is the iPad? Know what it can do for you and what you can do with it.

With the iPad, you can surf the Web using your fingers. Surfing the web has never been so convenient. See whole pages on the large Multi-Touch screen in portrait or landscape mode, depending on how you wish to hold your iPad. Connect with your friends on Facebook or Tweet around while slouching on your favorite couch or lying in bed.

Create magic with your fingertips as you navigate the Web by simply pointing, tapping, touching, flicking and pinching the screen. Goodbye, mouse.

You are never disconnected with the iPad. Even without a Wi-Fi network around, connect to the Web using optional 3G networking. Google and Yahoo! searching is built-in for your convenience. The iPad does not have a port for wired connectivity simply because you won't be needing it.

With the iPad, checking your inbox is easy and fun. Here's how you do it. Rotate your iPad to landscape to see an open email and the rest of the messages in your mailbox waiting to be read. Rotate it to portrait and a single e-mail message fills the screen for your reading pleasure.

A single tap and voila, an e-keyboard appears on your Multi-Touch screen. Now you're ready to type in your message response. Goodbye, keypad.

With the iPad, enjoy viewing or showing off your photos to friends in a number of ways. By simply flicking, pinching or tapping, you can stack your photos, scroll through thumbnails, page through an album, or tap to make a single photo fill the entire 9.7-inch iPad display. What's really cool is that your iPad remembers a face. For instance, you want to see all the photos of your daughter from a collection of pictures. Open a picture of your daughter, tap her photo in Faces view and iPad will open for you an album full of your daughter's photos.

With your iPad, enjoy your personal movie theater. The wide 9.7-inch high-resolution display allows you to watch your favorite movies in HD anywhere you go. It's practically a hand-held movie screen. The iPad's lithium-polymer battery lasts up to 10 hours. That's about 5 movies straight! Goodbye, movie theaters. Goodbye, boring plane rides.

iPad's Multi-Touch screen, a wide 9.7-inch liquid crystal display (1024×768 pixels, 132 ppi, XGA), is designed to be controlled by your own fingers. It's literally pure movie, TV and music entertainment at your fingertips. The glass screen is fingerprint resistant and scratch resistant.

The Multi-Touch screen responds to ambient light so that it automatically adjusts screen brightness. It also has a 3-axis accelerometer so that it knows whether you're on portrait or landscape mode and reacts to the orientation. The iPad senses how you are holding it and does different things as you switch from portrait to landscape-right to landscape-left or upside-down. You can also lock out this screen rotation function any time you wish.

The iPad has dual speakers and a 3.5 mm TRS audio-out jack for you to enjoy stereo sound from your headphones. There is a built-in microphone in the device for voice recording. The iPad has built-in Bluetooth if you wish to enjoy your music using wireless headphones. It also works with wireless keyboards.

The iPad comes with tons of applications that include Safari, Mail, Photos, Video, YouTube, iPod, iTunes, App Store, iBooks, Maps, Notes, Calendar, Contacts, and Spotlight Search. It syncs with iTunes on a Mac or Windows PC. Although the iPad may be too large to replace your cellphone, you can put on a Bluetooth headset and make phone calls over Wi-Fi or 3G using a VoIP application.

What can the iPad do for you? Just about everything you want a gadget do.

What you can you do with the iPad? Just about anything.
