Sonya

Having grown up and lived in the UK for most of her life, Sonya has now been resident in the Gulf for more than 7 years. She has spent most of that time in Dubai and has recently moved to Doha.

Born in Libya and growing up in London as an Arab, a Muslim, a woman….all these labels forced her to sit up and take notice of the power of words. With that she developed a love and respect for writing and all the methods of expression it entailed.

Graduating with a BA in Politics and Law from the University of London helped shape an interest in policy making, public opinion and the media. This in turn led to an MA in Diplomatic Studies and International Relations which she achieved with distinction.

Keenly aware of the role of the media in our everyday lives, she is fascinated by the written word and strives to share that passion.

Having worked in the press offices of the UN through to film festivals and property companies, she is most at home reading a good article or hopefully writing it!
