The Grand Hyatt's Jaula SpaThe Grand Hyatt Doha has recently opened its Jaula Spa, and QatarVisitor was invited to come and inspect the facilities. By Charlotte The Jaula (which means "Journey" in Arabic) Spa comprises a health club, with state of the art workout equipment, indoor pool with relaxation areas and exercise classes including Pilates, a retail boutique, a ladies salon and of course, the sumptuous treatment suites themselves. After enjoying the sunshine by the outdoor pool, I headed to the health club for a swim in the generous indoor pool. Several brisk lengths later, I felt I had earned some relaxation time, so made my way back to the ladies section of the health club and thoroughly tested the sauna, steam and inhalation rooms! ![]() I have to confess that it took me a little while to brave the plunge pool (cooled to a icy 0 degrees!) but once I got over the initial shock of the cold water, I felt rejuvenated and restored. Curled up in a fluffy white towel and bathrobe on one of the loungers by the pool, I relaxed as I studied the latest fashions in one of the thoughtfully provided magazines. SpaOnce I had showered and dressed, I was delighted at the offer to be shown round the spa and treatment rooms. ![]() In total, there are 12 treatments suites, six for women and four for men, plus two couples suites (perfect for a relaxing, romantic afternoon or evening together). There is also a luxurious relaxation area with beautiful lighting and a tranquillity pool. Each spacious suite incorporates a showering and changing area for total privacy. I was most impressed by the VIP suite - if you're feeling in need of some serious pampering but want to catch up with your girlfriends, here is your answer. Incorporating its own whirlpool, room for several people to have treatments, and ample lounging areas for discussing the latest gossip, this is girl's night heaven! ![]() Browsing through the spa treatments menu, it is clear that these are about luxury, intense pampering - and serious results. From the tailored facials, massages and body treatments (starting from QAR 375 for a 45 minute back, neck and shoulder treatment) right up to the ultimate 5 hour The Opening spa package (QAR 2,700), you know you will emerge from the spa renewed and revitalised. Unfortunately, the Qatar Visitor budget didn't quite stretch to a treatment, so I am unable to report just how wonderful and relaxing these treatments are - but I will definitely be saving all my pennies to go back! Qatar Visitor would like to stress that we are not paid for any of our reviews, however, we would like to thank the Grand Hyatt Doha for allowing us to use their health club facilities!
